St.Valentine - Demos 1988 (Melodic Hard Rock) USA

Good melodic hard rock band who had Slaughters Dana Strum as producer and also managed to enlist the talents of Mark Slaughter himself, and Jeff Scott Soto as backing vocalists. They looked like a Glam band and vocally I guess they were. But the songs were keyboard infected melodic hard rockers that remind me of somewhat of Rob Rocks, Driver.
Vocalist John Ward was English, and would front Shy for their "Welcome To The Madhouse" album.

Lickity Split - Stick It In 2009 (Hair Metal/Glam) USA

Another treasure dug up by Retrospect Records and first time ever on cd for the enigmatic L.A. Sunset-Strip based 80s Hair Metal / Glam act LICKITY SPLIT. Headlining clubs like the Troubadour , the Whiskey , Gazzarri's and The Roxy alongside bands like Guns n Roses , Tuff and LA Guns , LICKITY SPLIT was a band that unfortunately slipped thru the cracks. Now they have been resurrected and this is an excellent slice of 80s Hard Rock. Lickity Split re-united for Rocklahoma 2009 and won over a legion of new fans. Every 80s Glam / Hair Metal fan needs this in their collection.

Angeline - Confessions 2010 (Hard Rock) Suecia

Old feelings never die… well, in this case I’m talking about the love for music. Swedish rockers ANGELINE from the little town of Ljusdal were active from 1987 to the mid-90’s but now they’re back! This is a self-financed but real CD and it’s a sure album to buy if you’re into melodic hard rock. I think of bands like AEROSMITH, HAREM SCAREM and even the underrated BLUE TEARS when I listen to this. I get truly impressed! From A to Z this is professional and really strong; the classy production, the massive harmony vocals and the winning melodies. In a way they’re simple but still so memorable. Add to this the classy lead vocalist Jocke Nilsson. “Good Is Getting Better” is one of several racks that could take these guys to the skies. (Melodic.net).THX Jtoyz

Mr. Scary - The World Can Wait 2010 (Melodic Hard Rock) Australia

This is a fantastic slice of commercial melodic hard rock in the same vein as early Bon Jovi, Blue Tears, Heartless, Friction and others along that line. The band was active in the early '90s but never released an LP. The songs on this CD were recorded b/t approximately 1990-1993, though the band just independently released this CD in 2009 (sold in 2010) via two limited runs of 110 pressings total. Speaking of it's indie status, the guys deserve an A+ for production, sound quality, track arrangement, and packaging/artwork. Hopefully, if the demand is there, more copies will be created in the near future. Better yet, maybe they'll be signed to a label like Escape or Frontiers and then this record can be properly distributed.(jtoyz)

Sybill - St. 1987 (Melodic Rock) U.S.A.

Classy one off release that is a fusion of bands like Sheriff, Roadmaster, Equinox and some hard rock along the lines of Visitor and Van halen. Kind of like a covers band has taken all the best bits from some great groups and created their own stonking pomp/rock hybrid. And isn't it truly amazing what magic hides behind a bland face?! because without a doubt you would pass right over this one, without a second glance at the cover art. Buy at all costs!

Slyboyz - Good Time Music 1994 & What Comes After 2! 1993 (Melodic Rock) USA

This album is basically a compilation of tracks taken from previous cassette only albums: Slyboyz 1, and "What Comes After 2". It is also pre Savannah with keyboarder Marty Olga, along with guest musicians Bob Vose (also Fortune-s/t & Storyline) and Dario Dipietrantonio going on to better things with Z records.
The music itself is a mish mash of classic melodic aor ("Dreamin", "Solitaire", "The Higher You Get") to more blandola tracks that seem to lose their way. But this is a compilation.
Well worth acquiring for the three afore mentioned tunes alone. Jeff Fraser also has a self-titled album to his name.

Torme' - Die Pretty Die Young 1987 (Sleaze Glam) UK

I like this guy, very good guitar player. I liked him when he played with GILLAN (FUTURE SHOCK IS A KILLER ALBUM), live with OZZY OSBOURNE after the death of RANDY RHOADS, and the proyect with DEE SNIDER, DESPERADOS. Together with GARY MOORE, YNGWIE MALMSTEEN, VINNIE VINCENT, TONY MACALPINE and ALEX MASI one of the best guitarists. (Rene)

Lyons & Wells - Cascade 1994 (AOR)

Hard Charlie - Ridin' Hard Livin' Free 1993/2003 (Hard Rock) U.S.A.

Excellent, blues based, melodic hard rock Ep, released by the enigmatic Italian label, Time Warp, who's releases were always a little suspect, due to the nature of the packaging. So be warned!
Hard Charlies music originated in 1993, the artwork here looks like it has been cut/pasted from a possible demo tape, and released on cdr.
Great rockin band , though!

House Of Games - Rise and Shine 2006 (Melodic Rock) Estonia

Impressive melodic rock band, with slight prog tendencies, out of Estonia.
They do have a very rare s/t album release in 1994.

Geronimo! - All The Best Fuckin' Shit 2003 (Hard Rock/Sleaze) 1988/2003

Wow, this is an absolute killer record, especially the live tracks are really rocking (1-14). In the line up are David M. Philips and Johnny Rod from King Kobra, Lizzy borden. This stuff reminds me of Dee Snider's Desperado or Chet Thompsons'Slamnation. You can download all the songs as mp3 from their website. It's so good i'm considering to buy the original cd.(zld)

Cleveland - 53-54 1989 (Melodic Rock) U.S.A.

Interesting, blues flavored melodic rock, out of Ohio.
Vocals are mixed male/female, and there is on occasion an overdose of brass, amidst some of the chugging riffs. But then this band are from Ohio, and bands from Ohio, to not follow the normal melodic rock conventions.(just ask Jonah Koslen).
A good one for fans of Tantrum, Headpins and Joanna Dean.

Clark Kent - Reloaded 2009 (AOR) Germany

In 2009 new German, specialist reissues label Toolboxx Records released Clark Kents rare ep, along with 4 bonus songs (1 "live"), remastered, and limited to 500 copies worldwide.
A great package for the fan of pure Aor. Check out the link below, and get one before there all gone!.(aor-fm)

Ship Of Dreams - Always On The Run 1993 (Melodic Rock) UK

Very good British band (or were they...?) who released this nice ep of catchy melodic aor, with emphasis on the keys. Rumoured to have another ep. Considering this was released on a major label, not much is known about the band, but we hope that it will not stay like that.
If you like the idea of a combination of FM, Bite The Bullet and No Sweat, with a couple of semi-acoustic moments, this band will more than satisfy.

Shotz - St.. 1994 (Melodic Hard Rock) Denmark

The Unknown - Big Dreams 1989 (Melodic Rock)

Pre Blackfish melodic rock band who couldn't make up their minds if they were glam or aor. I guess they were just earning their spurs .Not a bad album and a very rare cd, but musically, Blackfish is the better, and a lot easier to get a hold of.

Lazy Susan - Bad Habit 2007 (Melodic Hard Rock/Hair Metal), Reissue

MELODIC HARD ROCK / HAIR METAL GEM. FOR THE FIRST TIME EVER IN ANY FORMAT COMES LAZY SUSAN. RECORDED IN 1994 LAZY SUSAN REALLY DIDN'T HAVE A CHANCE WHEN UP AGAINST THE NO-TALENT GRUNGE EXPLOSION , WHICH IS A REAL SHAME BECAUSE THIS HARD ROCKIN QUARTET FROM NASHVILLE SHOWED SOME REAL POTENTIAL ON THIS 7-SONG MINI-ALBUM. FEATURING GREAT AXEWORK (by Steve Purcell who has worked with Ron Keel) AND POWERFUL VOCALS , THIS SHOULD BE AN ESSENTIAL ADDITION TO YOUR 80s-STYLE HARD ROCK COLLECTION.

Frank Johnson - One 1992 (AOR) USA

Like.. Stan Bush, Jimmy Harnen or May Run..Very Good!!

Peace & Quiet - St. 1998/2005 (Melodic AOR/Pomp), Reissue

PROMISING late 70s/early 80s-STYLE MELODIC AOR / POMP BAND FROM SALT LAKE CITY. SOME REALLY GREAT TRACKS ON OFFER HERE FROM PEACE AND QUIET - CHECK OUT THIS REVIEW....The songs starts with some Classic Pomp piano-keys like LE ROUX/SUGARCREEK/SHELTER and in fact the whole song is in exactly the same style as classic AOR/Pompbands such as LE ROUX, SUGARCREEK, ROADMASTER, TOUCH.

Priscilla - Demos 1991 (Hard Rock/Glam) DEMOS

DEMOS.. VERY GOOD SOUND..NEW PRISCILLA HERE

Straight Lines - St. 1980 (Pomp Rock) Canada

Canadian Pomp Rock band, with core members Buckley and Sinclair, previously in a band called Dogstar.Debut is definitely the more pompous of the two albums, and a little quirkier too, and contained the classic "Heads Are Gonna Roll", one of two chart 100 songs (the other being "Roanne").
Any quirks were ironed out by "Straight Lines" which, without a doubt was the most "radio friendly".I don't think these albums have ever achieved CD re-issue status, but should, at the earliest opportunity.Buckley,Sinclair and Clarke would continue their partnership under the guise of Body Electric, releasing two albums and an ep, and "musts" for the discerning Aor fan. Clarke would then release two albums (2001/3) with First Shot, a minor supergroup of sorts, which had Marc LeFrance as lead vocalist.Recommended.(AOR-FM)
